IIS and SQL System Administrator

The IIS and SQL System Administrator’s role is to implement and maintain new or existing ISS applications, services and databases.  The Administrator’s responsibilities include all testing, staging, installations, upgrades and maintenance, as well as responding to alerts from Korbitec Systems Support.  Further responsibilities are maintaining up-to-date documentation pertaining to the state of the back office applications and services. 

The IIS and SQL System Administrator reports directly to the Korbitec Technical Operations Manager.

Functions:

• Implementation
• Installing applications and services as per the policies provided by the relevant Policy Maker
• Ensuring that new systems have sufficient capacity/resources as required by the back office application or service
• Maintenance
• Applying security patches and service packs as they become available
• Responding to monitoring alerts from Korbitec System Support within SLA
• Checking daily for errors in the log files
• Performing tasks on the system as required by customers
• Identifying areas where improvements can be made
• Testing and staging
• Perform adequate testing / staging of all updates before applying them to the live environment
• Documentation
• Creating and maintaining documentation pertaining to the installation and maintenance of the system
• Make documentation available to peers and management
• Ensure that all documentation is kept up-to-date
• Research
• Up-to-date knowledge of back office applications
• Awareness of all new vulnerabilities for products / services

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years industry experience working with IIS/SQL, and/or relevant Tertiary or Microsoft certification(s)
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and a strong commitment to meet deadlines in a dynamic team environment
• Good time management
• Must have good problem solving / trouble shooting ability
• Understand basic network and server monitoring tools
